    This position is a primary resource for import and export compliance, product classification and adherence to Terex policies and procedures. The Trade Compliance Specialist will be responsible for all aspects of importing and exporting Terex merchandise to be in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies. The position will work closely with multiple departments and divisions to support Terex's import and export programs.

    • Ensure the proper classification (in accordance with HTSUS), valuation, marking, and country of origin of imported merchandise and the proper use of duty preference programs
    • Act as a resource for researching, providing guidance, and responding to compliance questions from various company departments and divisions
    • Monitor anti-dumping and countervailing cases and maintain resource of current products subject to ADD/CVD
    • Serve as contact for customs broker to insure the proper declaration of customs information and discrepancy resolution to ensure timely processing of entries
    • Assist in the review, development, and implementation of Customs Compliance procedures while complying with all federal regulations
    • Maintain Customs Compliance databases as necessary and general record keeping
    • Develop corrective action recommendations for non-compliance of any policies, laws, regulations, or contract requirements
    • Manage post-entry amendment procedures, including responding to Customs notices (CF28 & CF29)
    • Identify opportunities for duty refunds and savings including classification, valuation, trade programs and duty drawback
    • Generate compliance metrics for reporting within the department and to management
    • Ensure timely filing of ISF and AES
    • Manage Free Trade Agreement solicitation process
    • Perform other compliance related duties and/or projects, as needed


    Basic Qualifications

    • Minimum 2 years' experience ensuring proper classification (in accordance with HTSUS), valuation, marking, and country of origin of imported merchandise and the proper use of duty preference programs

    Preferred Qualifications

    • 3-5 years directly related experience 
    • Licensed Customs Broker, a plus
    • Bachelors degree
    • Demonstrated ability to classify in accordance to HTSUS, GRIs, Binding Rulings and Explanatory Notes
    • Able to identify and take corrective action in resolving problems / issues as they relate to Terex suppliers and U.S. customs brokers
    • Experience in working with other government agencies
    • Proficient in using general Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, Visio)
    • Strong interpersonal communication skills both verbal and written
    • A commitment to detail, accuracy and follow-through is essential
    • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Keen ability to manage multiple competing priorities effectively
