    Oklahoma City is a unique site to Terex Corporation in North America, manufacturing for each of the business segments: Terex Aerial Work Platforms, Terex Cranes, and Terex Materials Processing. Its workforce of 560+ team members is anticipated to grow by more than 1,000 over the next few years. The 100+ acre facility has recently begun an extensive remodel to accommodate the business’ growth.


    About this Position:

    The Manager, Cost Accounting is responsible for leading the cost and inventory accounting function for the Oklahoma City site. This position reports to the Head of Finance.


    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Work with the business to identify, analyze and drive the implementation of significant productivity and operational improvement activities across the site.
    • Drive the on-going development of the cost and inventory accounting systems to include:
      • Improving segment reporting, and the automation and standardization of management reports.
      • Ensure the site has a comprehensive understanding of the operational and spending variances that are being generated by each business segment.
      • Provide support to the operational and plant management teams to develop clear and timely action plans to improve performance and effectively manage and minimize spend and production variances.
    • Provide financial information to support commercial decision making for the business segments including deal margin analysis, make/buy analysis, incremental capacity and ad hoc reporting for business leadership.
    • Working with site leadership, develop benchmark data, ensuring a clear and comprehensive understanding of the data and implement best in class practices.
    • Work cross functionally to develop metrics that deliver meaningful data for process measurement and identify indicators of future improvement opportunities. Drive a focus on plant efficiencies and collecting/analyzing key cost data and performance metrics.
    • Lead the annual standard setting process. Work cross functionally to ensure that BOM’s and routings are accurate. Develop overhead recovery rates by work center.
    • Provide prompt financial results to local management related to overall financial performance, including operational variances, plant KPIs, and department spending. Ensure the data is accurate, timely and presented in a manner that drives optimal decision making.
    • Provide oversight of cost of goods sold, including versus budget, forecast and prior periods. Analyze significant variances and provide interpretive comments and recommendations to management.
    • Actively participate in the process for actuals, budgets, forecasts and strategic planning for OKC operations, to include in-depth analysis and a comprehensive understanding of the underlying business drivers.
    • Work with internal and external auditors.
    • Perform ad-hoc reporting and other duties as assigned.


    Basic Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance.
    • Seven years of demonstrated cost accounting knowledge gained in a standard costing environment with an extensive financial management background

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Account (CMA) or equivalent professional qualification
    • Manufacturing experience
    • Oracle ERP experience, gained through an ERP implementation
    • Advanced Excel user and experience of Hyperion, Prophix, Cognos or other business information tools is desirable
    • Relentless in achieving results in a dynamic, changing, and demanding environment
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to complement creative “out-of-the-box” thinking
    • Excellent verbal communication skills, relationship building skills and a demonstrated ability to interact effectively, cross functionally and at all levels in an organization
