    CBI, a Terex brand, is a manufacturer of Wood Chippers, Biomass machines, and Grinders and is located in Newton, New Hampshire.  It is part of the Materials Processing division of Terex.

     

    The responsibility of the Cost Accountant is to cooperate with multiple departments to establish and maintain product cost standards and contribute to continuous improvement of the cost systems.  The successful Cost Accountant will manage day-to-day cost accounting activities and  interface with various operational and GBS (General Business Services) staff. The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of the core elements in a standard cost system and demonstrate ability to construct and analyze the standard costs of our products. The Cost Accountant should be responsive and flexible to complete ad-hoc pojects assigned by our International Leadership.

    Responsibilities:

    Responsibilities:

    • Maintain standard cost system, including: Inventory reconciliations 
      • Standard cost setting 
      • WIP accounting 
      • inventory accruals 
      • Inventory reserve accrual and roll forward analysis on excess, obsolete, lower cost of market, and warranty inventory reserves 
    • Responsible for month-end close including reporting and analysis by product line 
    • Managing day-to-day cost accounting activities 
    • Managing standard cost change process 
    • Review material, labor and overhead variance 
    • Review open orders and bill of material 
    • Review various cost and labor allocation 
    • Responsible for reserves analysis and inventory accounting/reconciliation 
    • Interface with various operational and accounting staff
    • Responsible for some accounts payable functions
    • Responsible to monitor select business processes in realtion to required controls (SOX)

    Qualifications:

    Basic Qualifications: 

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance orother applicable disciplines
    • Minimum 2 years cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment with multi-levels bills of material

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance orother applicable disciplines
    • 4+ years cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment with multi-level bills of material
    • Excellent PC and Excel skills
    • Extensive hands-on experience with ERP systems; Epicor experience a plus
    • Self Directed; strong time management and prioritizaton skills
    • Influencing skills; creativity in accomplishing assignments 
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Exceptional planning and organizational skills
    • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
