    We are seeking an experienced and motivated program manager to join the Global Sourcing organization, providing project management support to our European locations as part of our Strategic Sourcing Initiative. 

     

     

    Terex Strategic Sourcing Initiative

     

    As part of the implementation of our ‘Execute to Win business system, Terex has launched several major initiatives to better understand how we operate in certain areas.  A major initiative is in Strategic Sourcing.  The ultimate intention of this initiative is to develop strategic sourcing excellence.  Advanced capabilities and performance in sourcing will improve our margins and underpin our drive to Operational Excellence.

     

    Position Description

     

    Reporting to the Director Program Management, Global Strategic Sourcing, this is a key role in executing the Strategic Sourcing strategy with responsibility for delivering high quality and cost effective project management, management consulting, and analytic support services.  The scope of this initiative will be to compete all of our direct, indirect and logistics spend, implement supplier transitions leading to significant savings over a five year period.

     

    The post holder will interface extensively with our external consultants, Wave teams, Strategic Sourcing leadership team and segment and site level resources in Purchasing, Engineering and Operations.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Works with the external consultants and Strategic Sourcing leadership team to define and prioritize project requirements;
    • Defines and clarifies project scope, project plan and schedule
    • Develops policies and procedures to support the achievement of the project objectives
    • Defines project baselines
    • Develops and delivers consistent project status (work, budget) to stakeholders, including the Executive Leadership Team and Strategic Sourcing Steering Committee.
    • Manages project scope, manages risks, resolves issues, manages meetings and drives project through to completion
    • Provides leadership and direction to project participants to achieve a high level of performance and overcome barriers to change
    • Conflict resolution management
    • Provision of constructive feedback to the team as it pertains to project performance
    • Manages and coordinates resources from a variety of functional areas
    • Development of an effective communication strategy that enables regular contact with all key stakeholders within Terex.
    • Promotion of professional project management practices within the business
    • Assists with the people management plan as Team Members enter and exit wave teams to/from their existing role and/or continue through wave implementation or onto the next wave

    Qualifications:

    • Demonstrated experience in the management of complex projects requiring excellent planning, organizational and prioritization skills
    • Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to delegate tasks, motivate team members and manage stakeholder priorities in a deadline-oriented environment
    • First class communication and collaboration skills with the ability to develop relationships across levels, geographies and segment
    • Ability to consistently demonstrate the Terex Way values
    • Track record of effective leadership in both strategic and tactical decision making
    • Experience in successfully managing and leading multi-functional virtual teams both directly and via matrix management

    Education

     

    • Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline eg Business, Operations Management, Computer Science, Engineering, Supply Chain
    • PMI Certification or equivalent preferable

      

    Travel

    • Must be willing and able to travel - mainly within Europe.  Approximate travel requirements 25%
