    Oklahoma City is a unique site to Terex Corporation in North America, supporting manufacturing for each of the business segments: Terex Aerial Work Platforms, Terex Cranes, and Terex Materials Processing. Its workforce is anticipated to grow by more than 1,000 over the next few years. The 100+ acre facility has  begun an extensive remodel to accommodate the business’ growth.




    This position will be assigned to the OKC Strategic Sourcing Implementation team. The Design Engineer will be working in a team environment with other members to establish efficient methods and processes, assist with new or improved components and product designs; review, verify and validate designs/drawings and update work instructions and bills of material associated with implementing new suppliers / parts directly related to the Terex Strategic Sourcing Initiative.


    General Responsibilities

    • Direct contact between Design and Sustaining Engineering teams in OKC to the strategic sourcing team
    • Review supplier test plans, write test plans, complete product tests as required during the Frist Article inspection process
    • Participate in the engineering change process associated with new parts/suppliers.
    • Oversee and direct building and testing of prototypes as required
    • Work with purchasing, Mechanical Engineering, and Quality Engineering to address shop floor challenges with new parts/suppliers
    • Carry out drawing and modelling updates as required ensuring most current and complete design information is available to operations personnel.



    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology (ABET accredited institution)

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Design experience in heavy equipment (electric over hydraulic systems)
    • Knowledge of mechanical structures, materials, mechanisms, hydraulics, control systems, engines, familiar with steel specifications and structural analysis
    • Proficiency in computer tools used for design, analysis and verification: Solid-works & NX
    • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, and comfort with hands-on prototype fabrication
    • Strong orientation towards quality, safety and continuous improvement
    • Able to navigate bills of material within business system
    • Able to effectively manage and prioritize multiple projects
    • Effective communicator; German Language and/or knowledge of Asian culture would be an advantage.
