Performs a variety of work related to movement of materials and finished goods, i.e. stack, load, unload, pull and put away materials in plant and yard.


  • Must have the ability to read and interpret blueprints and order acknowledgment.
  • Must have some computer skills.
  • Must be certified to drive a forklift or have the skills to obtain certification and perform maintenance checks each use.
  • Must have ability to properly crate and protect materials using hand and power tools, to include power saw, air stapler, and banding tools for domestic and export orders.
  • Check crating and pad protection; check carton seal and banding to insure travel quality.
  • Prepare bills of lading and shipping reports.
  • Check off shipments and observe truck loading operations, bracing and securing of loads to insure safe arrival.
  • Work with R/P orders, shipping instructions and regulations.
  • Use measuring scale, weighing and counting scales.
  • Work under general supervision; instructions and guidance provided on procedural changes, new regulations, etc.
  • Interpret order acknowledgment as to ship loose bill of material.
  • Have the knowledge to position all types of units or any given mix of units and bodies on a step deck or flatbed trailer.
  • Understand the procedure for chaining and securing the units to the trailer for safe and damage free transport to the end customer.
  • Must have the knowledge and skills to transport large units around the plant and dock area in a safe and damage free manor. Understand what types of fixtures to use for picking and moving each type of product.
  • Understand DOT rules and regulations for transport of all types of loads on highways.
  • Be able to perform these duties in all types of weather.
  • Certified Welder preferred, but not required.
  • Other duties as assigned.



  • A Loader is usually assigned to one area, but must possess the ability to perform in several areas and will be assigned to several if required.
  • Exposure to all kinds of weather.      
  • Certain personal protective equipment is required.
  • Compliance with all applicable occupational health and safety required.


Education:      H.S. Diploma or equivalent.


Experience Level:  1 to 2 years experience in related fields preferred


Physical requirements of the job:

Physical requirements of the job are classified as medium to heavy.  Medium to heavy work is defined as exerting 20 to 100 pounds of force occasionally (0-2.5 hrs/day); and/or 25 to 40 pounds of force frequently (2.5-5.5 hrs/day); and or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly (5.5+ hrs/day) to move objects.  Physical demand requirements are in excess of Light work.
