    Position Overview:

    This position will build and lead the Trade Credit Center of Excellence (CCOE) at Terex and be responsible for the policies, underwriting procedures, information, tools and people required to evaluate, approve and manage trade credit risk for the company globally.  The incumbent will recruit and manage credit team members within the CCOE who directly support the business segments by underwriting large customers.  In addition, the incumbent will support credit team members in Global Business Services (GBS), our shared services operations centers.



    • Build and lead the Trade Credit Center of Excellence at Terex to support Terex business globally
    • Establish a framework that supports two modes of trade credit management:
      • High-touch, customer relationship-oriented underwriting performed in close collaboration with the operating businesses, and
      • Low-touch, automated, transaction-oriented reviews performed in GBS
    • Hire, manage and develop a team of credit professionals to proactively perform credit reviews and establish credit limits in the “high touch” environment
    • Develop and maintain credit policies, procedures and underwriting standards based on best practices, internal/external control standards and compliance requirements
    • Establish customer credit limits that appropriately balance the risks and rewards of transactions and relationships
    • Design and implement the process for credit reviews and approvals for customers
    • Develop, implement and maintain automated tools such as credit scoring models
    • Establish, in collaboration with credit team members in the GBS centers, the credit process and credit rules for transaction-oriented business
    • Share best practices and information within the credit community including credit professionals in the Center of Excellence, GBS and Terex Financial Services (TFS)
    • Facilitate training of team members
    • Monitor payment performance and the credit quality of the portfolio of customers
    • Prepare credit summaries, reports and analysis on payment performance, credit exposures, credit limits and key credit metrics for presentation to management
    • Analyze financial information including company and personal financial statements, individual and corporate tax returns, cash flow statements, credit bureau reports, etc.
    • Monitor portfolio performance and provide reports and readouts of key performance metrics to management
    • Manage workouts and payment plans for large past due customers in collaboration with internal legal, commercial and operations personnel
    • Establish strong working relationships with the customer base
    • Have intimate knowledge of external credit data provided by 3rd parties; incorporate the data in reviews and scoring models as needed
    • Continually work with multiple stakeholders to develop and improve the quality of credit submissions
    • Remain informed about legal, compliance and risk mitigation matters within the commercial credit markets


    Required Qualifications:

    • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics or Accounting
    • 10-15 years credit management experience in a large, multi-national company serving commercial customers, preferably in the industrial, capital goods or heavy equipment manufacturing sectors
    • Fluent in English (written and spoken)


    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Demonstrated leadership experience in large organizations
    • Strong partnering skills with commercial, finance and operations teams
    • Process management experience with proficiency in process improvement
    • Second language



    • Must be willing and able to travel up to 20%
