This role is responsible for developing and applying reliable engineering methods, theories, and research techniques, in the investigation and solution of technical problems. These problems can be mechanical, structural, electrical, and/or hydraulic in nature. You will provide support for the development of assembly/production systems as a member of the Manufacturing Engineering team using the Production Preparation Process (3P) to develop production systems for new product development (NPD), replicating of existing production systems and/or the redesign of existing production systems.
You will plan technical projects in the process, design, and/or development of Genie production systems. Specific areas of focus include machined parts, plasma/laser cut steel parts, formings, weldments, injection-molded parts, electrical control systems, and hydraulic lift/drive systems. You'll be responsible for developing new concepts from initial design through manufacturing startup. Designs are documented by creating models, assemblies, and drawings in SolidWorks. You may be required to analyze them using traditional methods in conjunction with dynamic and finite element analysis software. Design activities are coordinated with the purchasing group to ensure delivery of supplies or services needed to meet scheduled timelines.
