This position is responsible for all human resource generalist type of activities; this includes: team member relations, recruitment selection, HRIS, compensation/benefits, compliance/legal, safety/environmental, etc.  This position will establish credibility and visibility with Team Members, Team Leaders, and Managers through daily interactions and support. Candidate must have high degree of integrity and ability to manage confidential information.

 



Responsibilities:

Team Member Relations 

  • Increases awareness of TM relations at all levels of the organization, with specific focus on shop floor matters. 
  • Has high visibility and builds credibility with TMs by serving as their representative.      
  • Counsels Team Members and Team Leaders on company policies/procedures, etc. 
  • Responsible for creating/updating company policies and procedures. 
  • Assures that team members receive timely responses to questions, issues, and concerns. 
  • In connection with the HR Manager, compiles/analyzes data from TM survey, supports action planning process, follow-up and communication to TMs.

Recruitment/Selection 

  • Responsible for management and/or administration of the recruitment/selection processes. 
  • Participates in behavioral-based interviews for open positions. 
  • Partners with local schools and organizations to help build the Terex brand in the community
  • Conducts and coordinates orientations for new Team Members.  
  • Create and maintain job postings in iRecruiter

Compensation/Benefits 

  • Understanding of company benefits, including medical, dental vision, STD, LTD, FMLA, etc. 
  • Provide answers to benefits related questions from TMs.

HRIS 

  • Prepares monthly headcount report and any other business required reporting. 
  • Learn HRIS reporting tool to run reports/analyze data as needed.

Safety/Environmental 

  • Participates in and supports local safety initiatives. 
  • Partners with Safety Specialist to manage Worker’s Compensation process. 
  • Assists as needed, Safety Specialist in coordination of yearly checks/training.



Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree 
  • 1-3 years directly applicable HR experience in a client facing HR generalist role
  • 2 years experience coaching, employee relations and knowledge of employment laws.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and 1-2 years HR experience
  • Experience in manufacturing environment preferred
  • Deal effectively with ambiguity
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to multi-task; excellent project management, problem solving, interpersonal and analytical skills, and ability to work in a team environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook)
