Terex Utilities is a truck equipment final stage manufacturer of digger derricks, aerial devices and associated equipment for the utility industry, municipals, telecommunications, tree and electrical contractor markets.

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide engineered solutions for the development of new products and modifications to existing products.
  • Produce full manufacturing specification package including Engineering BOMs.
  • To resolve problems at the root cause quickly and effectively and manage engineering change process relating to wheeled platform engineering.
  • Follow Group standards of in the areas of QFD, FMEA, design-for-manufacture, prototype development and field testing
  • Follow Group engineering standards and associated IT systems, to ensure effective global management of released engineering data
  • Ensure current and new products meet standards and performance levels specified for safety, function and reliability
  • Reduce manufacturing cost through improved design and consultation with the production department, purchasing and suppliers.
  • To investigate and address Customer Complaints in a timely manner.
  • Drive standardization of components and sub assemblies within the wheeled platform product line.
  • Stay knowledgeable of machine component advancements and competitor design trends; apply latest technology to new and existing designs where appropriate to stay current and innovative.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Mechanical or Industrial 
  • Experience using 3D Modeling Software (SolidWorks)
  • Experience using FEA Analysis Software (Simulation)
  • Preference for experience using Composer Software
  • Preference for experience using DriveWorks Software
  • Technical expertise in mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Strong communication skills, both written and spoken
  • Experience with MRP systems.
  • Understanding of various applications that the equipment can operate in along with an appreciation for the expected performance of the machines.
  • Creativity and innovative thinking
  • Ability to identify risks both technical and commercial with proposed product change or new product
  • Understanding of various applications that the equipment can operate in along with an appreciation for the expected performance of the machines.
  • Creativity and innovative thinking
  • Ability to work with others to meet deadlines.
  • Able to assess workload and commit to realistic time-lines.
  • Able to select from multiple design alternatives when a clear best choice is not evident.
  • Able to investigate root cause of machinery non performance.
  • Can identify risks both technical and commercial with proposed product change or new product
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects at one time
  • Good Presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • A “Can do” attitude and ability to interact with a multi-functional team.
  • 3-5 years experience in Manufacturing, Mechanical
  • Competent User of 3D Solid Modeling CAD
  • Experience using Product Data Management (PDM) systems
  • Technical expertise in mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Strong communication skills, both written and spoken
