Genie Industries/Terex Aerial Work Platforms (AWP), a business segment of the Terex Corporation, is headquartered in Redmond, WA with branch offices worldwide; we manufacture material lifts, aerial work platforms, trailer-mounted booms and light towers, telehandlers, scissor lifts and self-propelled telescopic and articulating booms. This position manages a Genie product line, supporting new and existing products, and providing excellent support to our customers.  Specifically, the candidate must:

  • Understand markets, customers, and economics for their product line, to fully develop quality and profitable products through the new product process.
  • Fully support the AWP sales department regarding products, product performance, markets, pricing, and competition.
  • Demonstrate excellent information processing and communications skills (written, verbal, and presentation)
  • Fully understand and embrace the short and long term vision of Terex AWP.
  • Fully understand AWP's multi-functional business and work as a team member with all functional areas of the company.



  • Drive the execution of strategic plans through extensive knowledge and research of customer needs, market trends and segmentation, customer/market segmentation, distribution channel characteristics, target market size, external environmental and economic trends, and financial analysis.
  • Provide excellent customer support on product specific issues and new opportunities.
  • Manage new products from start to finish for new products, following the Product Road Map strategy and the Gate Review process.
  • Develop and execute pricing strategies, fully understanding Genie product value versus the competition.
  • Support Genie capacity planning and capital investment planning.
  • Manage a training program, with a full understanding of Genie and competitive products, their features and benefits and performance, and the financial status of their companies.
  • Lead development of the marketing plans to support the business plan and strategy.
  • Assist with developing marketing campaigns and sales programs that improve brand image and drive volume, as well as working with product support to ensure customers receive full value from their Genie products.
  • Drive product specific market research to support product development team, including frequent customer visits/meetings to better understand our business.
  • Maintain current knowledge of the competitive products and future strategies by competitors.
  • Make recommendations for innovative solutions to improve our short-term and long-term competitive position.
  • Identify opportunities for differentiation of our products and industry leadership.
  • Perform other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position and the Enterprise.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or Marketing is required. 
  • 5 years of product and marketing management experience


Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA is preferred
  • Knowledge of business financials, business principles, and business processes
  • Advanced knowledge of the principles and practices involved in new business development, product marketing, and sales
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships, prepare and deliver formal presentations
  • Understanding of the manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, financial, and product support process
  • Well-developed problem solving skills
  • Strong time management skills
  • Passion for customer support
  • Ability to make sound business decisions based on research data and other input
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of normal work hours, and some weekends/holidays
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.
