Overview:

Oklahoma City is a unique site to Terex Corporation in North America, representing each of the five business segments and manufacturing products for four: Terex Aerial Work Platforms, Terex Cranes, Terex Material Handling & Port Solutions, and Terex Materials Processing. Its workforce of 500+ team members is anticipated to grow by more than 1,000 over the next few years. The 100+ acre facility has recently begun an extensive remodel to accommodate the business’ growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products, utilizing knowledge of production processes, machine and plant capability, and human resources requirements to achieve positive results in all areas. 
  • Reviews production orders to determine types, quantities, variations, specifications, and proposed delivery of products, then schedules and estimates Team Member hours and materials needed to complete assignments. 
  • Develops measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality.  Implements changes in working conditions and use of equipment and tools that improve work flow, efficiency, and Team Member safety. 
  • Coordinates production requirements with material handling and other functions. 
  • Interprets specifications, and orders such as engineering change notices to Team Members, makes and participates in assignments, and conducts inspections of work. 
  • Initiates communications on employee relations matters such as promotions, transfers, attendance, discipline, work conditions, and personal assistance.  Resolves Team Member grievances and problems, facilitating solutions or forwarding situations to higher authority. 
  • Ensures a safe and healthy work environment.  Ensures that all Team Members are trained and observe safe practices. 
  • Reviews production reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to continually minimize costs and enhance productivity and quality. 
  • Oversees and participates in the inspection of materials
  • Conducts reviews of departmental Team Member performance. 
  • Develops and ensures training for current and new team members. Communicates company philosophies and policies, teaches and demonstrates work routines, and documents performance. 
  • Maintains records of day-to-day activity including time and materials, process steps, and occurrences of important issues or activities. 
  • Inspects machines to ensure optimal utilization. May set up and/or verify settings on production machines. 
  • Tracks absenteeism and keep accurate time records. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position.

Qualifications:

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • 4 year college degree in Engineering or Business or equivalent experience in manufacturing.

Preferred Requirements:

  • 5 years hands-on experience in assembly and/or fabrication processes in a Lean Manufacturing environment preferred 
  • Flexible and able to work extra hours on a daily basis if needed and with short notice as production requires
  • Proven ability to construct and manage manufacturing process in accordance with accepted Standard Work elements, quality standards and Systems, JIT practices, and Lean Manufacturing
  • Previous experience leading a manufacturing team as a Group Leader, Team Leader, Cell Leader or other type of leadership position
  • General knowledge of OSHA/WISHA safety standards and implementation of ergonomic principles
  • Strong skill set using PC and software programs such as MS Word, Excel, and Project
