Terex Canada Ltd. is seeking a Business Development Manager to maximize volumes and margins and lead a regional sales team for a product line within the Materials Processing segment. The role would be responsible for maximizing sales and margin through strong and effective dealer management, driving the sales team and dealer network within their assigned territories to maintain, penetrate and increase customer awareness. The role will also be responsible for promoting the use of our products, services and solutions to achieve the Company's short range and long-range business objectives and to develop and expand the distribution base of our extensive range of products across to the assigned territories.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a small team of regional sales managers.
  • To develop, implement and manage sales and marketing initiatives for Dealer accounts within the assigned region, in a highly professional capacity, respecting company confidentiality at all times.
  • To develop and agree annual business plans for each Dealer account, providing regular documented feedback on progress vs plan throughout the year.
  • To identify, appoint and assist in the development of new Dealer accounts, where appropriate, within the region.
  • To ensure all Dealer accounts are formally contracted, current and aligned to Terex Standards.
  • To establish Dealer sales targets and provide forecasts for machines sales, in line with the annual business plan.
  • To secure sales orders for machines in line with agreed targets, whilst striving to maintain or improve company sales margins.
  • To work directly with Dealer accounts to drive sales and improve dealer service levels.
  • To actively participate in the management of credit control aspects of Dealer accounts.
  • To train and advise Dealer staff (or end users) on company products, machine applications, services, warranties and basic aspects of technical sales.
  • To proactively liaise with other company functions to ensure Dealer accounts have access to engineers, field service and other team members as necessary.
  • To carry out ongoing research of local market and business activity and identify new opportunities for current and future products.
  • To receive feedback on existing products and services, as well as changes, enhancements and new products and convey information to engineering and marketing team members for research and consideration.
  • To gather and collate regular local submission of market data, forecasts and inventory status in line with agreed input for the S+OP process.
  • To actively participate in establishing and tracking dealer / end user customer satisfaction levels.
  • To attend trade shows, Dealer conferences, and exhibitions and play an active part in marketing activities as appropriate
  • To adopt and/or assist with implementation of any new management techniques, systems, processes or reports as appropriate.   
  • To ensure compliance with Terex and local laws and advise Terex brand line of any contradictions with company policies and good business practices.
  • To carry out any other reasonable duties that may be required from time to time

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate College degree
  • 5+ years experience managing dealer accounts within mobile crushing & screening industry
  • 5+ years end-user sales experience

Qualifications:

  • Fluency (to professional business level) in English
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and practices involved in new business development, product marketing and sales
  • In-depth technical, sales and applications knowledge of our products.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to prepare and deliver formal presentations to customers
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills to develop sales strategies
  • Thorough working knowledge of MS Office packages
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating activities with a variety of large teams
  • Time and Territory Management practices must be exceptional.
  • You must be goal and result orientated with the energy and commitment to drive forward sales to our Dealers and their customers.
  • Significant regional and long distance travel required
