Terex Advance Mixer produces top quality, front and rear-discharging concrete mixer trucks in a
variety of configurations to meet any need.  Our Fort Wayne, IN location
has an opening for a Sr Buyer.




Provide adequate stock of goods to support prototype build, production and service parts functions, assist production and prototype build by expanding critical parts shortages, maintain accurate and timely purchase order management, work with vendors to reduce lead times, ensure timely availability, proper quantity/quality and minimum inventory, investigate, coordinate and resolve issues of rejected material, maintain stock status reports of parts critical to prototype, pilot and production or with long lead times, maintain vendor data/purchase order databases/supplier correspondence, analyze purchase requisitions/orders for accuracy and conformance, assist receiving department in resolving packing slip and receiving issues and AP in resolving invoicing issues.  Assist the organization in identifying potential cost savings, identify inventory reduction opportunities, ensure competitive cost (solicit quotes and negotiate contractual terms and conditions), coordinate part specifications with engineering staff and forecasts with the sales department, build and maintain vendor relationships, perform other duties as assigned.



Basic Qualifications:

  • Associates degree
  • 5+ years previous experience in manufacturing purchasing environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPIM Certification preferred
  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems, kanban, ISO 
  • Excellent communication skills; verbal and written. 
  • Computer skills; MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint). 
  • Effectively apply analytical tools. 
  • Use considerable independent judgment to plan and make sound decisions to perform duties. 
  • Results oriented and able to perform with minimal error. 
  • Ability to perform cost analysis and inventory counting, tracking, ordering.
