About the Position

Title:  Financial Analyst

Reports to:  Director, Finance Transformation

Location:  Waverly, IA


Terex Corporation is a global business leader that manufactures a broad range of equipment for use in various industries, including the construction, infrastructure, quarrying, recycling, surface mining, transportation, refining, utility and maintenance industries.  Terex operates in three business segments throughout the world: Aerial Work Platforms, Cranes and Materials Processing.


Global Business Services (GBS) provides transactional processing and accounting services to the Terex business segments and is located in five countries: Australia, China, Italy, United Kingdom and United States.


Summary of Position


This position will develop and support financial analysis processes for GBS and finance transformation initiatives. As part of the Project Management Office (PMO) team, the Financial Analyst will provide relevant and timely information to support leadership decision making as well as leading and or support operational and project planning processes globally. The Financial Analyst will also be responsible for the standardization, simplification and optimization of financial analysis processes.


Responsibilities and Essential Functions


  • Support financial analysis process for GBS and finance transformation globally
  • SG&A cost analysis – identify, analyze and recommend actions
  • Working capital and cash flow analysis – identify, analyze and recommend actions to improve minimize DSO and maximize DPO for favourable cash impact
  • Establish and maintain management reporting package to utilize in monthly operating reviews (MORs)
  • Create and manage project plans for key strategic initiatives; Lead and participate in initiative task forces
  • Support key initiative execution specifically focused on quality, delivery and cost
  • Global metrics – definition, analysis and reporting – daily, weekly and monthly across safety, SOX, quality, delivery, cost and morale
  • Support GBS customer service measurement – develop process, capture data and report
  • Lean annual operating planning and financial forecasting processes including a global planning process development and execution
  • Develop financial analysis leader standard work to be utilized in GBS operations – daily, weekly and monthly
  • Lead GBS control and compliance tracking globally to ensure alignment with Control Design Validation (CDV) and Internal Control Roadmap (ICRM)
  • Ad-hoc analysis – understanding need and applying consistency across regions
  • Business partner with Corporate and Segment FP&A

Basic Requirements

  • 4 year college degree
  • 2 - 4 years FP&A, accounting or financial management experience
  • 2 - 4 years of demonstrated analytical, data-mining and problem solving experience

Preferred Qualifications


  • MBA or certification preferred
  • Strong computer and data warehouse skills – Oracle, Hyperion, MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word proficiency
  • Able to translate data into information for leader decision making
  • Proven track record of attaining organizational and personal objectives
