About the Position

Title:                                  Manufacturing Engineer

Type:                                 Regular, Full-time

Reports to:                       Director of Engineering

Location:                          Fort Wayne, IN

Work Eligibility:               Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

 

 

Position Overview

  • This position will primarily handle the development and improvement of production equipment and techniques for the production floor.

Responsibilities:

  • Interprets design specifications, drawings, and requirements to match those with the appropriate manufacturing procedures and processes
  • Stays atop of the latest trends in manufacturing equipment and techniques.
  • Confer and discuss concerns with product engineering, industrial engineers and manufacturing team members
  • Analyze proposed product specifications to determine feasibility of proposals
  • Detail and plan equipment layout and installation and material movement for flows and processes to maximize manufacturing efficiency and product integrity
  • Support resolution of issues related to cost, manufacturability, quality, performance, reliability, and serviceability.
  • Aid in the transition of products throughout their lifecycle to assure maximum longevity and profitability.
  • Create solutions to safety related issues within the manufacturing process
  • Update and maintain product documentation
  • Establish and document efficient methods and processes
  • Review verify and validate designs/drawings completed by the engineering dept. personnel

 

 

Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Engineering Field
  • 0-3 years of Manufacturing Engineering Experience
  • Assembly tooling and fixturing experience
  • Ability to perform within the principles of Lean Manufacturing

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Good understanding of engineering principles and practices
  • Technical skills in industrial wiring and electrical systems 
  • Must have a working knowledge of Excel, Word, AutoCAD, 3D Modeling Software
  • Resolves less complex matters on own, exercising judgment and initiative. Provides information on complex matters to others for resolution.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Solid communication skills - both written and verbal.
  • Well-developed organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.

 

Hours

  • 40 hours per week during normal office hours, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.
