About the Position

Title:                                  Manufacturing Engineer

Type:                                 Regular, Full-time

Number of Positions:      1

Reports to:                       Plant Operations Manager

Location:                          Canton, SD

Work Eligibility:               Must be authorized to work in the U.S.



Position Overview

  • Engineering designs and development for production floor utilizing lean manufacturing principles and maintaining quality standards.


  • Implement new product designs and work instructions
  • Prepare component drawings and schematics of truck systems
  • Support product changes with appropriate designs and drawings
  • Confer with necessary personnel to clarify or resolve production issues
  • Confer and discuss concerns with suppliers
  • Support production in the development and implementation of prototype components
  • Analyze proposed product specifications to determine feasibility of proposals
  • Make changes and updates to bill of material as components evolve to the product
  • Verify component information
  • Update and maintain product documentation
  • Understand current ISO standards & maintain current ISO standard documentation
  • Establish and document efficient methods and processes
  • Develop new engine, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic components, along with assisting with new or improved components and product design
  • Review verify and validate designs/drawings completed by the engineering deptartment personnel
  • Maintain electronic bills of material




  • BS degree in Engineering Field
  • Minimum of 3+ years of Manufacturing Engineering Experience, heavy equipment preferred
  • Assembly tooling and fixturing experience
  • Ability to perform within the principles of Lean Manufacturing


Required Skills & Competencies

  • Good understanding of engineering principles and practices
  • Technical skills in hydraulic principles and electrical systems
  • Must have a working knowledge of Excel, Word, AutoCAD, Pro-E, 3D Modeling Software
  • Resolves less complex matters on own, exercising judgment and initiative. Provides information on complex matters to others for resolution.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Solid communication skills - both written and verbal.
  • Well-developed organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.




  • 40 hours per week during normal office hours, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.
