Location:                200 Nyala Farm Road, Westport, CT 06880

Position Overview:

 

The Talent, Diversity and Inclusion intern will complete projects that will introduce him/her to various aspects of the group’s work, including, but not limited to: training and development, diversity and inclusion, HR metrics, and engagement. In addition, the intern will gain valuable experience working in the headquarters of a global corporation, gaining an understanding of the complexity of our business, connecting with others in the HR community, and learning our fundamental HR processes. This internship is ideal for someone who has an interest in pursuing a career in Human Resources, with particular emphasis on talent acquisition, training and development, creating an inclusive workplace, and/or HR systems and processes.

Responsibilities:

Depending on the successful candidate’s interests and abilities, and the needs of the business at the time of placement, the intern’s projects could include the following:

 

Training & Development

  • Create and update training materials focused on various HR processes, including global succession planning and navigating talent management systems.
  • Enter and analyze program evaluation data for our management and leadership development programs. Prepare charts and reports to summarize results.
  • Analyze data and prepare reports summarizing the results Supervising for Success and Managing for Success “Post Program Impact” surveys.
  • Create and publish online training for our global Team Members using our eLearning tool, Brainshark.  

Engagement

  • Update HR community site with latest documents.
  • Support the planning of Westport-based community service activities and create communications as needed (posters, News@Corporate descriptions, etc.).
  • Assist in project to analyze data to compare team member performance ratings and turnover.

 

Diversity and Inclusion

  • Create training materials to support the next phase of our diversity and inclusion journey.
  • Support local Women@Terex initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Junior year standing as of Fall 2018 at accredited 4 year university/college.
  • Pursuing a full-time undergraduate or graduate degree in Human Resources or a related business.
  • Minimum of a cumulative GPA of 3.0 required to submit resume to Terex Career Database.
  • Desire to build a career in Human Resources with particular interest in talent development.
  • Track record of demonstrable accomplishments in school and at work.

  • Basic understanding of Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Analytical abilities.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Solid communication skills - both written and verbal.
  • Well-developed organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Action oriented and strong follow-up.
  • Positive, can-do attitude; self-starter.

Hours

  • 40 hours per week during normal office hours, 8:30 am - 5:30 pm.
