Position Description

Terex is building a team to support a US Payroll Shared Services organization. We are seeking Payroll Specialists to administer weekly and bi-weekly payrolls for approximately 7000 employees in 30+ states. The positions will be based in Southaven, MS.


    • Administration of weekly and bi-weekly payrolls
    • Administration and management of garnishments, tax levies, child support orders, etc
    • Complete manual pay entries
    • Assist employees and HR team with questions as they arise regarding pay, payroll policies, use of the ADP Enterprise eTime and ADP Self-Service portals
    • Auditing all paperwork, pay adjustments, terminations, garnishment administration, reviewing electronic timesheets, interfacing with HRIS and benefits systems (ESPP and 401k)
    • Work closely with HR to administer different Leave of Absence pay, benefit-related deductions, short term disability, etc.
    • Review audit / error logs from ADP Enterprise eTime, process corrections as needed, review and import hours, and troubleshoot system issues
    • Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment
    • Demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to explain payroll and compensation related items effectively to employees at all levels
    • Create and maintain documentation of assigned processes for year-end entries, audits, reporting, and system imports
    • Support training needs for HR and managers on general payroll and timekeeping policies, and use of time keeping system
    • Ability to handle confidential information discreetly and protect employee privacy 
    • Responsible for continuous process improvement in assigned areas




Basic Qualifications:

  • AA degree, or equivalent experience
  • 3 years payroll experience
  • 3 years with payroll terms, benefits and garnishments including child support
  • 2 years of experience with automated time and attendance systems
  • 2 years of experience with Excel (vlookup, pivot tables, functions)


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Kronos or ADP eTime time and attendance systems, preferred
  • Experience with ADP payroll systems, PayForce experience preferred
  • Experience with ADP reporting
  • Multi-state payroll experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with payroll tax filing
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Strong project management and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • FPC/CPP preferred
