Oklahoma City is a unique site to Terex Corporation in North America, manufacturing for each of the business segments: Terex Aerial Work Platforms, Terex Cranes, and Terex Materials Processing. Its workforce of 360+ team members is anticipated to grow by more than 1,000 over the next few years. The 100+ acre facility has recently completed an extensive remodel to accommodate the business’ growth.

 

 In the Drivetrain System Engineer role, you will engage in all aspects of Drivetrain design for Rough Terrain and Truck Cranes, including selection of engine, transmission and drivetrain components. You will be responsible for design of the overall system to meet the crane performance targets, including appropriate heat rejection system. The work also includes the creation of design layouts, detail drawings, schematics, routings, and bills of materials for new and existing products. Additionally, you will provide sustaining engineering support to operations. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining CAD models and BOMs of components and assemblies, taking into account fit, function, manufacturability, and cost. Specific areas of focus include working with project engineers, manufacturing, and product management to develop new products and support continuous product improvement.

 

 

Responsibilities:

System and/or component design and specification

Creation of CAD models, prints, BOMs and schematic diagrams

System and component testing and performance validation

Production and prototype build support

Maintains awareness of technical issues and provides feedback to management                Product support and troubleshooting, including making engineering changes (ECRs)

Conduct Formal and Informal Design Reviews

Design in Quality and Reliability Improvements

Provide Solutions for Complex Problems Through Data Analysis and Root Cause Investigation

Design Work Scheduling, Planning, and Communications to Team and Management, following the Terex NPD process.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelors Degree in engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience with mechanical and drivetrain system design.
  • 3+ years experience in the use of 3D CAD software (, but not required)

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Experience with Mobile cranes or design of heavy equipment or related industry
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing
  • Must be familiar with researching and following applicable industry design standards
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Technical writing skills sufficient to prepare product specifications, test, and process documentation. Strong orientation towards quality, safety and continuous improvement.
  • Experience with UG-NX, E3 and AutoCAD desired.
