This position will be responsible for the Detroit,MI area. 

Primary responsibility is to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair truck mounted aerial platforms, utility-type or other large equipment in the field and on customers site as required.  Also, removes, installs, diagnoses, repairs, disassembles, assembles and performs failure analyses of all heavy equipment.  Duties include inspections as well as training customers on how to maintain machinery.  Performs trial run of machinery to ensure performance and quality meet established specifications.


  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair truck mounted aerial platforms and digger derricks
  • Must be proficient at cylinders, pumps, motor and valve components, and with advanced hydraulic systems as well as perform diagnostics and repair of hydraulic and electrical components
  • Perform heavy component installations with knowledge and skill in automotive electronics and 110 volt systems
  • Perform annual inspections as needed or required and follow-up repairs as noted
  • Evaluate and make recommendations regarding repairs
  • Must be able to utilize available resources to conduct technical research
  • Plan daily/weekly schedule to meet the needs of multiple customers
  • Respond promptly to customer needs in a positive, supportive, and timely manner
  • Communicate job progress to supervisors, service coordinators, and customer as needed
  • Complete service reports, order parts, and maintain records as appropriate
  • Take responsibility for Service Truck, keeping it ready at all times for required fieldwork. (Service truck to be stationed at Field Service Mechanic's home)






Basic Qualifications: 

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 4 years of industry (or exposure to) experience
  • Ability to pass MVR requirements
  • 4 years experience reading hydraulic and electrical schematics as well as being able to interpret blue prints, drawings and work orders
  • 4 years of experience using fluid and load testing tools

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Class B CDL with air brake endorsement 
  • Must have own tools
