Position Overview

Terex Corporation is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to assist the human resources team that supports the Corporate office and global Finance and IT organizations, totaling 1,000+ team members around the world.  This role will support recruitment, engagement, onboarding/off-boarding, performance management, human resources analytics, employee relations, and company events.  The successful candidate will gain valuable experience working in the headquarters of a global corporation, connecting with others in the human resources community and learning our fundamental human resources processes.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities

  • Support recruitment for permanent team members - draft job descriptions, identify appropriate salary range, enter jobs in applicant tracking system (iCIMS), ensure appropriate approvals, post jobs, approve offer letters for assigned openings.
  • Recruit temporary resources - establish and maintain relationships with local placement agencies, work with hiring managers to assess needs and identify suitable candidates, coordinate interviews, negotiate agency rates, onboard and off-board temporary resources.
  • Lead onboarding process - prepare new hire materials and welcome schedule, oversee onboarding system tasks, ensure systems and technology access on first day, identify peer coach and act as secondary peer coach for new hires, deliver new hire orientation.    
  • Lead off-boarding process - conduct exit interviews, update internal systems, ensure that all other off-boarding tasks are completed.
  • Support the talent development and performance management process – participate in annual performance review, talent review, and compensation planning processes.
  • Analytics - produce reports for senior management, including headcount metrics, open job reports, and other ad hoc reports as requested.
  • Corporate policies - ensure corporate policies, procedures, and programs are up to date and assist team in drafting new or revised policies.
  • Team member communications - manage HR-related team member communications.
  • Data management - assist in ensuring team member data is correct across all systems and prepare documentation for team member transactions.
  • Company events - assist in planning company events for the Corporate office.
  • HR team support - support Senior HR Manager and HR manager in a variety of day-to-day activities.
  • Employee relations – act as first point of contact for employee relations matters.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related or relevant field, such as Business, Accounting, Finance, Organizational Psychology, Management 
  • 2-4 years of experience in Human Resources, preferably with global and/or publicly traded company

Preferred Qualifications

  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Intermediate skills in Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.), PowerPoint and other MS Word programs)
  • Service oriented and customer focused
  • Metrics-driven thinker
  • Well-developed organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Action oriented and strong follow-up
  • Strong analytical and project management skills

  • Self-starter, ability to operate independently
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced setting 
  • Human resources internship experience a plus
