Overview:

Genie Industries/Terex Aerial Work Platforms (AWP), a business segment of the Terex Corporation, is headquartered in Redmond, WA with branch offices worldwide; we manufacture material lifts, aerial work platforms, trailer-mounted booms and light towers, telehandlers, scissor lifts and self-propelled telescopic and articulating booms. 

 

Responsible for global Used Equipment inventory accuracy, pricing and optimization.  Sets standards and procedures for inventory management across multiple locations and business platforms.  The position would require working directly with each AWP owned and contracted inventory location around the world to ensure inventory accuracy and transactional excellence.  



Responsibilities:

 

Establish and maintain inventory processes and procedures to ensure inventory accuracy and optimization.  Working with the local inventory locations to maintain effective internal control over the physical product flow, transactions, receiving, invoicing and accounting of inventory.  Responsible for inventory accuracy and transactional excellence.

  • Work with local inventory locations to develop reliable inventory processes and procedures to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Qualify new inventory locations and provide training on inventory transactions.
  • Drive for standardization of inventory management processes and report related standard metrics across the organization.
  • Maintain Used Equipment “Blue Book” database and trade package values.
  • Manage Used Equipment pricing and periodic updates.
  • Provide weekly pricing information to the field and our customer base.
  • Improve inventory velocity through pricing and inventory management as measured by days in inventory.
  • Analyze the inventory to ensure that the proper mix is continually being managed and turned while improving customer service levels in accordance with the key performance metrics.  Drive the necessary actions with each of the inventory site/branch managers to address the issues identified as a result of this analysis.
  • Develop processes and procedures to manage Salesmen Used Equipment demo inventory.
  • Develop inventory reporting tools in both AS400 and MAS200 that accurately depict inventory in each location.
  • Develop methods to reduce reporting time constraints in the various locations as it relates to inventory counts and reconciliation.  
  • Research inventory variances and works with accounting to ensure timely reconciliation.
  • Design processes for researching inventory variances and procedures for reconciling errors.
  • Coordinate with finance teams as required to ensure visibility and transparency of inventory levels and revenue.
  • Represent the Used Equipment locations as they relate to inventory during monthly operation reviews.  
  • Communicate goals and results on inventory levels to all levels of the organization; including sales team, business unit managers and senior levels of management.
  • Participate with the customer support team to ensure adequate tools are available to reduce inventory management costs including software/hardware requirements, reporting methods, process development, etc.
  • Serve as “Subject Matter Expert” and focal point for the Terex Management System (TMS) in the area of Used Equipment finished goods inventory.
  • Interface and share best practices across all operating groups of Terex Corporation.

 

 



Qualifications:

Education

 

Bachelor's degree in business or industrial engineering.  May substitute degree with equivalent industry experience with emphasis in inventory/transaction management.

 

Experience

  • Significant (4-5 years+) experience in the new/used heavy or aerial equipment field.
  • Experience managing high dollar value finished goods inventory in a multi location environment. 
  • Experience working in a global organization.
  • Experience in working with multiple ERP systems, in particular AS400 and MAS200.
  • Experience working with databases and database queries e.g., Showcase Vista, Sequel Viewpoint.
  • Experience in Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement especially as they relate to administrative processes.
  • Knowledge of, and experience in, capital equipment aftermarket support (Parts and Service) processes and critical success factors.

Skills

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to interact with locations in different countries and with different cultures.
  • Operational experience in areas including inventory control, P&L management, supply chain management, production facilities and customer support organizations.
  • Strong understanding of Accounting principles and requirements relating to inventory.
  • Advanced level MS Excel with strong mathematical and analytic skills.
  • MS Office, AS400, MAS200 (basic level VBA, HTML, XML, Share point, a plus).
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to prepare and present proposals and presentations.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills. 
  • Must be detail oriented and results driven.
