Terex operates in four business segments: Terex Aerial Work Platforms, Terex Construction, Terex Cranes, and Terex Materials Processing & Mining. Terex manufactures a broad range of equipment for use in various industries, including the construction, infrastructure, quarrying, surface mining, shipping, transportation, refining and utility industries. This role will carry out aggressive bill of material cost reduction through product redesign. Duties will include the minimization of the product's total cost through redesigning for manufacturing and supply chain cost reductions. Changes will be implemented by using lean philosophy, continuous improvement, tight time constraints and cost targets. Conducts analytical studies on engineering proposals to develop design for products. Works on problems that impact design/selling success or address future products or technology. This position is responsible for the design, testing and implementation of a wide variety of engineering projects related to equipment. The job involves analyzing and developing solutions to various complex engineering related problems primarily mechanical structural, hydraulic and electrical in nature. Perform research to gather information for assigned projects. Work with outside suppliers and internal departments to coordinate project work. Set up, perform, and document tests and evaluations on components and machines. Create part models, assemblies and detailed drawings. Complete all assignments in a timely manner with minimal supervision.

| Responsibilities: |
Key Tasks: • Define cost target data for common commodities. • Have experience in product design, to address the following issues: o Rapid Prototyping o Mentoring others on daily Kaizen, production system methodology, and system design o Implementing and succeeding at aggressive cost reduction targets on product BOM. o Consistency in meeting or exceeding agreed upon performance targets o ECN implementation into production o Extensive knowledge with proper material selection for give applications o Design experience and proficiency with structural, electrical, and hydraulic systems o Extensive experience with make / buy decisions leading to lowest total cost solutions o Experience with QA testing and reliability validation o Experience with Single piece flow production systems o Use of 5S as manufacturing improvement tool o Experience with 3P methodology

| Qualifications: |
Requirements: • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree • A minimum of 5 years' experience of product design engineering in a high volume production environment. • Proficient with Solid Modeling and FEA • Familiarity with steel cutting, forming, and welding processes • Ability to read complex mechanical drawings • Outstanding problem solving skills- must be self-directed. • Ability to organize complex projects and sequence work • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written • Ability to work closely with a diverse group of people in a team environment • Experience modeling with Pro E preferred • Thorough understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerance preferred • Familiarity of automotive design or power train systems preferred • Familiarity with electrical circuit design and/or electrical components preferred • Familiarity of hydraulic circuit design and components preferred • Familiarity of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques preferred • Constantly sitting and use of computer • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs • Work on shop floor
